    Lassen Sie uns vom Bahnhof aus mit einem Stadtbummel beginnen. Gießen ist seit Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts Eisenbahnknotenpunkt. Das jetzige Bahnhofsgebäude, Neoromantik, wurde 1906 eingeweiht. Gleichin in der Bahnhofsstraße liegt das 2002 eröffnete Mathematikum, das neue "Mathematik - Museum zum Anfassen", reizvoll vor allem für die Jugend. Das Panorama der Stadt mit dem Turm der Stadtkirche, dem Wahrzeichen von Gießen.

Giessen Railway Station

    Let' s begin our tour of the city from the railway station. Giessen has been a railway junction since the mid-19th century. The present station building, neo-Romantic, was officially opened in 1906. The "Mathematikum"  the new "hands-on Mathematics Museum" attractive particularly for young people, was opened in 2002 and is located nearby in Bahnhofsstrasse. Here the city panorama with the steeple of the town church, the landmark of Giessen.

    Commençons notre promenade à la gare. Giessen est un noeud ferroviaire depuis le milieu du 19e siécle. L' actuel édifice de la gare, de style néo-romantique, a été inauguré en 1906. Tout prés, dans la Bahnhofstraße, se trouve le Mathematikum inauguré en 2002, le nouveau museé "tactile" des mathématiques qui s' adresse surtout aux juenes.
